A VISION FOR THE SAMOAN PEOPLE
Randy Hurst had a vision from God to translate a Samoan Bible for the benefit of the Samoan people. In the 20th century, Randy Hurst passionately served the Samoan Islands as an AGWM Missionary.
The US Samoan District Council of the Assemblies of God, led by Superintendent Rev. Tuugasala L. U. Fuga, was approached with a vision by Pastor Rolly Hurst, the son of Randy Hurst. Rev. Tuugasala, an executive leader of the World Samoan Assemblies of God Fellowship, welcomed the WSAGF Executive Leadership to share this vision. He recognizes that the WSAGF is a legacy of the early missionaries who arrived in Samoa as early as the late 1920s. While this initiative began with the US Samoan District Council, it has since evolved into a collaborative project.
The WSAGF Leadership Summit 2024, held in Auckland, New Zealand, brought together the WSAGF Executive Leadership, including Mr. Edgar Reed, Director of Life Publisher International, and Pastor Rolly Hurst, Project Director, to discuss the timeline and how the project would kick off.

The project timeline is approximately two and a half years, with a projected completion date of the church's 100th anniversary in 2028.
Selection process for Translators: Each region selects five members, accompanied by their Superintendent. Team Samoa will consist of thirty members.
Training: Team Samoa must attend a week-long training course in Apia, Samoa, in June 2025. During the training, translators, theological readers, editors, a project coordinator, reviewers, and data inputs will be appointed. Pastor Rolly and his team will select the position assignments for the final approval of the Executive Leaders.
Funding: Life Publisher International funds the project. Due to the use of different currencies, reimbursement is the most efficient way to fund part of the training.
The project is designed to be worked on from respective regions and monitored throughout the project. Other future instructions will be provided.
